Two of our educators have very warm fuzzies on this cold day. This morning, a screech owl was found in our EcoStation outdoor exhibit. He was small and very cold. The educators took him to the Wildlife Rehab and Education (WR&E) Center where he will be cared for, warmed up and rehabilitated. It is very important when you find an injured wild animal to call the wildlife center for advice on how the situation should be handled: (713) 861-WILD. Some animals are dangerous for humans to handle or your good intentions may end up harming the animal. So please always call an expert before attempting to care for a wild animal. UPDATE: He survived. From WR&E – “He has survived his head trauma and seems to be on the road to recovery. Thank you for taking the time to bring it to the Wildlife Center. We have gotten many of these little guys in over the last two weeks so he has plenty of buddies.”
